Ritz Paris
In the glittering heart of Paris, the Ritz was a place where Ernest Hemingway found both escape and inspiration. In the 1920s, when he was still a hungry young writer, he slipped through its doors, drawn to the elegance and to the sense that here, anything was possible. The Ritz was a stage where artists, aristocrats, and dreamers mingled, and for Hemingway it became a backdrop to the myth and magic of his Paris years.
Two decades later, legend has it that Hemingway returned not as the struggling writer but as the liberator. In August 1944, he marched into the Ritz with Resistance fighters, declaring it free from German occupation. That night, he celebrated with champagne at the bar, etching himself forever into the hotel’s history. Today, the Bar Hemingway keeps his spirit alive, a Parisian shrine to stories, laughter, and the man who made the Ritz part of his legend.

Sloppy Joe's Bar
Sloppy Joe’s Bar in Key West was one of Ernest Hemingway’s favorite haunts during his years on the island. Founded by his close friend Joe Russell, the bar—originally on Greene Street—was a gathering place for locals, fishermen, and writers in the 1930s. Hemingway lived nearby and could often be found drinking, swapping stories, and soaking in the lively atmosphere that inspired much of his work.
When Prohibition ended, Russell moved the bar to its current Duval Street location, with Hemingway and friends helping carry the bar top and bottles down the street. Today, Sloppy Joe’s stands as a Key West landmark and a tribute to Hemingway’s legacy, hosting events like the annual Hemingway Look-Alike Contest and celebrating the writer’s enduring connection to the island.

Hemingway Restaurant Plovdiv
In the center of the city on a quiet street next to the Roman Odeon is Hemingway Restaurant Plovdiv. Aesthetics and cosiness combine in the Bohemian interior and somehow naturally fit on the old bookshelves. The small tables on the pavement in the summertime remind the intimacy of Parisian cafes and bistros. The aroma of deliciously prepared food and freshly baked bread is carried through the air and lures for a glass of wine. And the customer feels at home. And always returns for more. From the food prepared with love, from the fine-grained wines, from the music of the piano in the corner. We have arranged to offer variety in the lunch and dinner menu, our wine list is a selection of classical Bulgarian and imported wines, and the service we strive to maintain at a high level. Because our customers expect it from us. Because it has always been so.
