The Hemingways

Hemingway LTD Board of Directors

  • Angela Hemingway

    PRESIDENT, FOUNDER, DIRECTOR

Angela Hemingway is President of Hemingway, Ltd in addition to being a member of the Board of Directors. She is the senior member of the team, both in rank and in years with the company. She married Jack Hemingway, our founder, in 1989 and has been associated with the brand ever since.

She and Jack traveled internationally in her capacity of promoting the Hemingway brand. Ultimately a most coveted invitation from The French Designer Showhouse in 1999 asked her to introduce the collection and to celebrate Ernest Hemingway’s 100th birthday. The room displayed the lifestyle of Ernest Hemingway which received high praise in the Style section of the NY Times and then again in 2001 to celebrate her late husband’s lifestyle. Jack passed away in 2000.

Angela’s responsibilities involve the Ernest Hemingway intellectual properties. This covers literary, film and television and participation with the JFK Library (Ernest Hemingway Collection) and the Ketchum Community Library (Restoration of the EH House in Ketchum, Idaho).

Aside from responsibilities of the business her interests are philanthropic, specifically the SPCA and various arts and artistic causes. Leisure time activities include golf and fly fishing. She resides in California and Sun Valley, Idaho with her husband Glen Charles, writer and creator of Cheers, Taxi & Frasier.

  • Brendan Hemingway

    EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT, DIRECTOR

Brendan Hemingway has been on the Board of Directors since 2008. In 2019 he was asked by his uncle Patrick to edit the book that became Dear Papa, a collection of letters between father and son. Brendan’s internal focus in his tenure on the board has been on financial reporting and his external focus has been on widening the audience for Ernest Hemingway’s work.

Outside of the family business Brendan has pursued a career in informatics as a software engineer, a product manager, the co-founder of multiple companies and a CTO. As part of that career, he holds US Patent 6,119,170.

As a child, Brendan was lucky enough to hunt with his father, Gregory, and his uncle Patrick in Africa, to (unintentionally) swim with sharks in Bimini and to wander the streets of Key West when Key West was still pretty sleepy.

In keeping with family tradition, Brendan enjoys being in the woods, on and in the water in various forms and the companionship of most dogs, a few cats and the odd horse.

  • Patrick Hemingway Adams

    EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT

Patrick Hemingway Adams is a writer and photographer specializing in the outdoor sporting and travel world.  His creative work utilizes a unique blend of classical literary influences, rock n’ roll attitude, and an unhealthy amount of sarcasm to create a fresh take on what it means to live and document an adventurous life in the modern age.

He is an avid reader and aficionado of all things loud, fast, and fun.  Most at home in the wilderness; he can often be found at his mountain homestead in the American West, fishing in the Caribbean heat, or trekking through the African bush with a camera or rifle- or both.

Having spent a childhood divided between the ocean and mountains, Patrick would tell you that he is well-rounded philosophically.  He is a graduate of Montana State University and a former aspiring professional skateboarder.  His assorted punk bands have recorded no music to date.

He often volunteers his time and pen in support of causes that he hopes his Great-Grandfather would approve of- such as fundraising for anti-poaching organizations in Africa and the proliferation of books and literacy throughout the country.

Patrick’s short stories, articles, and musings have appeared around the world in print and on the web.

He lives with his family and birddogs in Western Montana.
